Privacy policy

Effective October 8, 2026. This policy covers plankandplot.com.

The short version

• There are no accounts, sign-ups, or forms. We never ask for your name or email.
• Every calculator runs in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us.
• We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies.
• We show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to choose and measure those ads.

What happens to the numbers you enter

Calculations happen on your device. We don't store or receive your measurements. If you use "Copy link to this estimate," your numbers are added to the page address so the link can reopen the same estimate. Anyone you send that link to can see those numbers.

We remember your choice of US or metric units and the last ZIP code you entered in a garden tool in your browser's local storage. It is not a cookie, it never leaves your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings.

The garden tools look things up by ZIP code. They download a data file named for the first three digits only, so typing a ZIP code does not send the full code to us.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are useful. It records page views, the referring site, country, device type, and browser. It does not set cookies or use local storage to track you. Cloudflare also hosts this site and processes IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Advertising and cookies

This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

• You can turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center.
• You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
• Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you'll see a consent message from Google before any ad cookies are used. You can change your choice from the link in that message.

Your choices under US state privacy laws

Some states, including California, give you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. We don't sell information, and we don't collect names, emails, or other personal details. Ad cookies set by Google may count as "sharing" under some of these laws. Where required, we offer an opt-out through Google's privacy message on this site. You can also block third-party cookies in your browser.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
